Lucas Ashe Racing Kicks off the season at Spring Fever Frenzy - Placerville, CA:
April 6, 2019
After a long break from sprint car racing, it was nice to get back in the car this Saturday night for the 1st “Sprint Car Challenge Tour” points race, at Placerville Speedway.
The evening started off decent with timing the Jesters Auto Museum and Event Center/ Logo USA #33 Sprint Car 5th in our qualifying group. Starting 5th in my heat race I drifted back a spot. By the end of the heat I was able to hold on the 5th spot which locked me into the evenings main feature. Starting 20th in the feature, I started to loose the brakes 2 laps in. By the time I reached the 4th lap, I decided for safety reasons, to pull off and call it a night.
Overall, I feel the night went well for this season’s first race. I got to shake down the car and work on some new setups. Big thanks to Rod Tiner Jr. for his knowledge and help Saturday on the wrenches and my parents for helping me make it happen.
My goal this season is racing the 13 Sprint Car Challenge Tour races, possibly some local races and a race or two in the northwest. I would like to run more races if possible. As we get support for fuel, tires and etc we can add additional races. Also, if you would like to partner or have a seat opportunity please let me know.
Lucas Ashe Racing would like to thank Jester Auto Museum and Event Center, Logo USA, Inc., SALCO Inc., STL Tile, Custom Coatings, Tiner Hurst Enterprises, SK Construction, Cox and Cox Construction, Triple X Race Co., DMI Components, VSR Vanlare Steering Repair, Shaver Racing Engines, Redline Diesel Emissions Products, Fat Cat Propane, Ontario West, Napa Auto Parts and Mike’s Auto Body Shop for their continued support.
